On January 21, after about 11 hours long on the air and I hour range of driving finally five of us arrived, Abbotsford Canada. Here we will begin our new life for 5 months.
The first day when we arrived at our own homestay, it was really embarrassed for me to communicate with local people here. I was willing to talk with them but in the meantime I was afraid of making any mistake. They encouraged me to speak out and introduced me a lot of Canadian friends. They are really tolerant and generous. With their help, I was amazed to realized that it is easy to adapt the new environment.
In the part of academic, math is obviously the easiest one for Chinese students. I can even say that the knowledge we are learning now have already learnt by us when we were in junior high school even in elementary school . But it is only for math. As for my schedule, BC science is really nerve-wrecking, which includes biology, physics and Earth science. It’s hard because there are such a lot of proper nouns you need to remember. The point that we are studying exactly familiar to the ear. Just like'Continental Drift Theory', 'Plate Tectonics', ' The Earth Layers' and so on. But when it gives us insight into the nature of things you'll find it's not that easy to make sense. For Social study, we learn more in-depth knowledge about Aboriginal people's living habits and life conditions.
We have just been here for nearly three weeks. For the above views，I know that it's not that deep. But everyone knows there's saying that this kind of feeling is the highly individual knowledge that has accumulated a wealth of experience and can't make a systematic exposition, that is, can be sensed, but not explained in words. The trip will be a very unforgettable experience and also will be a precious treasure for my life.
This the first day of school. The school is really new and everything looks exquisite. The teacher asked a student to lead us to watch the school around and found our own classroom. My schedule is robotics, English, science and math. I have a really good time at school. In the afternoon, me and other three of my classmates in China that also came here for exchange asked to hang out at ARC(a gym) to play ice skating together. Because I live pretty near so I agree. But this was my very first time skating so it’s pretty hard to control myself. We also have a great time there. That was really a surprise that I never fell down, not for once. But my ankle really hurts after that. We eat dinner at a Chinese restaurant near sevenoaks the food there is really good but the variety of the food is not that much. All in all, today is really a busy day.
Today, I felt really good. First, at the Robotics class, I found that it’s easy to me since I have robots club before. Then, it’s English class. I read Insurgent at first, next we typed our passage to the computer in the computer room and gave it to the teacher. Then, the teacher gave each one of us a novel called Hunger Game. I found that the book was not so expensive. At the science class, the teacher taught us chemistry which is really easy for me as well. I have learnt that when I was in grade 8. The math class was also really easy. Just hard to calculate some times. So, despite English, other courses are really easy. So, no worries about me.
I was so excited today! It has been snowed outside for a whole day. It’s really beautiful outside. The snow here is just like the purely white velvet fallen down on the ground. All the city seems to change after a night. But, that caused a problem. The weather became really cold and the street became slippery. So, I need to walk really slow and careful all the time. Our math teacher had a test today which many students felt hard but actually not for me. The test is just a piece of cake. I really felt so satisfied
